The Landy Archimedes screw pumps supplied by Landustrie are intended to protect the City of Lingen, especially the Reuschberge district, against flooding.
These four screw pumps (length 9 m) will each pump 14400 m3/h and are used only in the event of floods.

In case of high water level, water from the Lingener Mühlenbach is pumped into the Ems river thus preventing exceeding of the maximum permissible water level.
