Customised screw pumps for reliable water transport

Looking for a robust solution for pumping large quantities of water? The Landustrie type screw pump offers the solution. For more than a century, we have been producing screw pumps - or Archimedes' screw - for applications in pumping stations, sewage and wastewater treatment plants, irrigation projects and flood management.

Each screw is custom-designed and produced in our own factory in Sneek. Thanks to their open design, low energy consumption and low-maintenance construction, our screw pumps have a very long service life - even under the harshest conditions.

Features

The Landustrie screw pump operates as a positive displacement pump, based on the Archimedean principle. Water enters the compartments between the flights at the inlet, and the rotary motion combined with the inclined position moves the water upward in a step-by-step manner.

This open and clog-free design allows large volumes of water to be pumped at a relatively low speed - without risk of clogging or damage. This makes the screw pump extremely suitable for continuous operation, even with water that is contaminated or contains coarse particles.

Landustrie renovated the inlet pumping station of the Hildesheim sewage treatment plant in Germany. Two new LANDY augers with a prefab trough were installed here. Of the screw pumps in this pumping station, one screw must be ready for operation at all times. A quick conversion was possible because the selected semi-packaged trough has a very short installation time. The newly delivered augers have a diameter of 2.6 m and a length of 13 m.
