Renovation of Piet Oberman polder pumping station
Commissioned by the Zuiderzeeland Water Board, Landustrie is renovating the polder pumping station Piet Oberman in Tollebeek. The open screw pump dating from the 1970s is being fitted with new parts and converted from a grease-lubricated to water-lubricated pump. The non-return valves and control box will also be renewed.
The pumping station in Tollebeek is named after Frisian resistance fighter Piet Oberman (resistance name Piet Kramer). Piet Oberman was active in the resistance in WWII and involved in the raid on the House of Detention in Leeuwarden on 8 December 1944. Read here more.
