Wetterskip Fryslân's last diesel pumping station has been replaced by a sustainable pumping station, equipped with a Landy prefabricated screw installation.

Commissioned by De Boer & De Groot, Landustrie took care of the entire electromechanical part. The polder pumping station Wildlanden, located near Oudega (Smallingerland) is now equipped with a prefabricated auger, diameter 1100 mm, length 3800 mm and capacity of 960 m3/hour.

The auger plant was fitted with a duckweed fence and new control building with its associated controls.

Lightweight Wetterfretter

Landustrie's renowned dirt cutting Wetterfretter pumps are now also available in a compact and lightweight version. By adapting the pump and motor housing, a compact pump has been realised with a weight of only 35 kg. In case of inspection or maintenance, the pump can easily be lifted by hand. Landust renovated three sewage pumping stations in Doorn for the municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug. New LANDY pumps were supplied and installed for the pumping stations on Oranjelaan, Breullaan and Horstlaan, together with the associated piping and controls.

Commissioned by the Zuiderzeeland Water Board, Landustrie is renovating the Piet Oberman polder pumping station in Tollebeek. The open screw pump dating from the 1970s will be fitted with new parts and converted from a grease-lubricated to a water-lubricated pump. The non-return valves and control box will also be renewed.

Floating purification for Amsterdam

For the new district Buiksloterham in Amsterdam-North, a new sustainable water purification system has been realised by order of Waternet. DeSaH BV designed the new sanitation technology and Landustrie carried out the mechanical and electrical engineering work.

In the very near future, the dial-up technology Circuit Switched Data will no longer be supported. KPN will start the phase-out as early as 1 January 2021 and other providers will follow in the foreseeable future.

• On 01-01-2021 KPN will stop CSD data
• On 01-01-2022, KPN will stop 3G

Both services relate directly to older communication equipment at Landustrie installations. Your ground and pumping systems in which this CSD technique is used then lose connection to the network.

CSD data with GSM modems:
Wherever GSM modems are used, such as Landy-Line, Landy-Net and I/O-Controllers, the ability to communicate with the current GSM modems is lost. (Wavecom, Genpro, Westermo GSM modems). This will also affect certain Adesys GSM modems over PLC installations.

3G Routers:
All installations currently containing a 3G Router will revert to 2G on 01-01-2022. Vodafone has already stopped doing this. This means that the communication speed/coverage will drop drastically and there may be communication problems in installations with this type of router.

Especially the loss of functionality of CSD data, forces our customers to make a choice for another communication solution in the short term.

To this end, not only is the electromechanical installation of the pumping station being renewed, but structural modifications are also required.

Completing work on Groningen pumping stations

Almost a year after signing the contract, work is now being completed on the last of the nine pumping stations. The sewerage pumping station at Bedum will be fitted with new pumps with associated pipework and controls.

At the main Groningen sewerage pumping station, the Water Board and Landustrie signed the agreement to renovate nine pumping stations on Wednesday 7 December 2016. The sizeable order of more than one million euros includes not only carrying out the renovation work, but also a three-year management and maintenance plan is part of the order.

The municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân commissioned Landustrie to renovate the IJsbaan pumping station in Sneek. The pumping station on the Leeuwarderweg dates from 1965 and was also built by Landustrie at the time.

Now, new Landy pumps installed type BTP, horizontal dry-mounted pumps with a special cantilever construction. This construction simplifies maintenance and inspection work.

The associated pipework with flow meter, adjusting the controls are also part of the work. The control cabinet will be fitted with the new Landy-Web pumping station computer.

Safety remains paramount. After an in-house course, all our employees in Production and Field Services hold the Safe Hoisting and Lifting/Tightening of Loads certificate. Not only was a practical exam taken, but all legal safety regulations and procedures were also covered.

In honour of the British Queen's 65th anniversary, the BBC is paying special attention to Windsor Castle. The broadcast of Countryfile's Royal Special features, among other things, the hydropower jacks, as supplied at the time by Landustrie.

Safety remains paramount. After an in-house course, all our employees in Production and Field Services hold the certificate Safe lifting and hoisting / hooking up of loads.
Not only is a practical exam taken, all legal safety regulations and procedures are covered. Risky situations with lifting tools and equipment are recognised and acted upon appropriately.

CSD technology disappears; what are the implications?

Major hydro project in Alsace

The existing Steinsau weir on the River Ill near Erstein is being fitted with six pieces of LANDY hydropower jacks. The weir dates from the late 19th century and ensures that the downstream regions of Erstein and Strasbourg are not flooded during high water. Part of the restoration and renovation of the weir is the installation of screw turbines to generate renewable energy.

Auger pumping station 100% fish-friendly

Reports from TAUW show that the Fishtrack2.0 as applied in the screw pumping station at Usquert is an excellent fish migration facility. Both upstream and downstream, over 1,200 pangolins and eels already migrated in both directions at the test site in 2 weeks. And 100% undamaged, as they do not pass through any rotating parts in the pumping station. Meanwhile, large eels, silver eels and pikeperch also passed.

The new Oceanhamnen district in Helsingborg, Sweden, will use decentralised wastewater treatment. With Desah BV's innovative sanitation concept, grey and black water will be collected and processed separately. This concept contributes to the reuse of water, nutrients and energy.

Landustrie will equip the pumping station with two new pumps made by Hidrostal, each with a capacity of 110 kW. These pumps were tested and trialed at its own test site in Sneek.
As one of the few companies in the Netherlands, Landustrie nl has a fully equipped test stand where pumps of any make can be tested. The pumping station will be completed by the end of 2019.

Three hundred mini-grids renovated

On Thursday 9 November 2020, the renovated 300 mini pumping stations commissioned by the Municipality of Leusden went into operation. Working closely with social employment service Amfors Groep, Landustrie renovated the controls of these mini pumping stations in the municipality. On the basis of demo cabinets supplied by Landustrie, Amfors' metal company (Metafors) realised the switchboxes and the corresponding outdoor installation cabinets. Old switchboxes were dismantled by them and carefully separated, checked and recycled where possible. The proceeds from the recycling were donated to KiKa.

Largest hydropower auger

The world's largest hydropower screw has been manufactured at Landustrie so far. The 5-metre diameter screw is destined for a project in England and will generate around 355 kW of green power. Booster pumping station Blokmergouw

For the new booster pumping station Blokmergouw in the municipality of Hoorn, Landustrie supplied the mechanical and electrical part. The new pumping station is part of a package of measures to optimise the existing wastewater system within the municipality.
Here, the municipality is responsible for collecting wastewater and Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier provides transport to RWZI Wervershoof.

Landustrie executed the pumping station with two pieces of Hidrostal pumps with a power of 250 kW and a capacity of 2300 m³/hour.

Completion of the project obtained through Friso Civiel has now taken place.

Due to persistent warm weather, blue-green algae is again plaguing many surface waters in the Netherlands. The blue-green algae causes a lot of nuisance and causes not only stench but also mass fish kills. By introducing extra oxygen into the water, this problem can be tackled. The LANDY-7 surface aerator proves to be ideally suited for this purpose.

Especially for emergencies and temporary application, Landustrie rents out its LANDY aerator in a floating setup. Within 24 hours, a fully-fledged rental unit can be deployed from Sneek, equipped with drive and fasteners. For Water Boards and nature management organisations in particular, this is an adequate approach to the lack of oxygen in surface water.
