Expansion of Gabal el Asfar WWTP

The Gabal el Asfar sewage treatment plant, located on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, is undergoing a major expansion. After completion of the entire project, the plant will have a capacity of 2.5 million m3 of water per day, making it the largest plant in Africa and the Middle East and the third largest in the world. Implementation will be carried out by a consortium consisting of companies from Spain, Germany and Egypt.

Old pump in new look

n order of KWS Infra, Landustrie Sneek bv supplies ten pumps for a new business park in North Holland. Six submersible pumps with Vortex impellers ensure that all condensation water is drained into the sewage system. Four new screw pumps of type P400 (3 + 1 spare) will also be installed in the HWA pumping station. These pumps discharge the rainwater into the surface water.

Jacks to Chilean capital Santiago

Landustrie will supply five new screw jacks for the largest sewage treatment plant in Latin America, La Farfana in the Chilean capital Santiago. The jacks will be placed in the intake pumping station, where some 6 to 7 hundred thousand m3 of wastewater per day is pumped into the treatment process.
