Reliable sludge thickeners for efficient sludge processing Sludge thickening is an essential step in the wastewater treatment process and takes place after secondary sedimentation. Further thickening of the sludge increases the dry matter content and simplifies further sludge processing.
Our sludge thickeners are suitable for a wide range of sludge digestion tanks and are supplied with, among other things, a bridge, drive, inlet drum, agitator and floating layer discharge. The system can be supplied with a rim drive or a central drive, as required.

A sludge thickener reduces the water content in sludge. Instead of processing the thin, watery sludge directly, it is first thickened: solids sink to the bottom, while excess water is drained off. The result is a more compact, concentrated sludge volume that can be disposed of or further treated more easily, cheaply and efficiently.
This step is crucial in the purification process. The more effective the thickening, the lower the costs for further sludge processing. The thickener can be operated with our own Landustrie central drive unit, designed and manufactured in-house, characterised by maximum reliability and a long service life.
