Completing work on Groningen pumping stations

Almost a year after signing the contract, work is now being completed on the last of the nine pumping stations. The sewerage pumping station at Bedum will be fitted with new pumps with associated pipework and controls.

Steinsau hydroelectric weirs

Meanwhile, LANDY hydropower jacks have been installed in the existing weir, in the River Ill near Erstein. A total of six augers, each with a diameter of 2.5 metres and a weight of 7 tonnes, will produce about one million kWh per year. This amount of renewable energy is good for about 250 households.

Largest hydropower auger

The world's largest hydropower screw has been manufactured at Landustrie so far. The 5-metre diameter screw is destined for a project in England and will generate around 355 kW of green power. Due to the dimensions of the screw pump, it will be transported by ship. The photos show embarkation of the screw pump and the accompanying screw trough from its own quay in Sneek.

Renovation of nine pumping stations

At the main Groningen sewerage pumping station, the Water Board and Landustrie signed the agreement to renovate nine pumping stations on Wednesday 7 December 2016. The sizeable order of more than one million euros includes not only carrying out the renovation work, but also a three-year management and maintenance plan is part of the order.

Major hydro project in Alsace

The existing Steinsau weir on the River Ill near Erstein is being fitted with six pieces of LANDY hydropower jacks. The weir dates from the late 19th century and ensures that the downstream regions of Erstein and Strasbourg are not flooded during high water. Part of the restoration and renovation of the weir is the installation of screw turbines to generate renewable energy.

Hydroelectric power station opening

Last Saturday, the Netherlands' first cooperative hydropower plant was festively opened. Amid great interest, the children's mayor and the youth water digger activated the hydropower auger. After the official part, there was an open house for all interested parties. A special Dommelstroom app was developed for the plant, which provides real-time insight into energy production.

Auger pumping station Dülkener Nette officially in operation

The auger pumping station at Viersen was officially opened on 29 June 2016. The new supply pumping station is equipped with five Landustrie augers and is used to pump the excess rainwater from the buffer canal into the new buffer basin (6400 ltr/sec). This prevents the surface water from being overloaded with polluted water. In filter basins planted with grass, the water is cleaned and returned to the Nette river in small quantities.

Landustrie wins frontrunner award

After participating in the Koploper project in the Municipality of Weststellingwerf, Landustrie emerged as the winner. In the Koploper project, companies are screened for sustainability. A Koploper project lasts about a year and is concluded with a Koploper symposium. There, the Koplopers present their results and inspire other companies. The participant who has best completed the CSR homework assignment wins the Koploper Award!

Lightweight Wetterfretter

Landustrie's renowned dirt cutting Wetterfretter pumps are now also available in a compact and lightweight version. By adapting the pump and motor housing, a compact pump has been realised with a weight of only 35 kg. In case of inspection or maintenance, the pump can easily be lifted by hand. Especially at mini pumping stations where no lifting facility is available, this pump offers a solution.

New pump series tested

The new range of dry-mounted pumps with cutting device has been tested. These are the pump types BSP 22-05 and BSP 22-08. The test results are positive and the pump efficiency is equal to the renowned submersible pump, also known as the Wetterfretter (DSP type). These pumps with cutting device cut the solids in the wastewater into small particles, which are then pumped through the pipework (dia. 32 mm) without any problems.

Auger pumping station 100% fish-friendly

Reports from TAUW show that the Fishtrack2.0 as applied in the screw pumping station at Usquert is an excellent fish migration facility. Both upstream and downstream, over 1,200 pangolins and eels already migrated in both directions at the test site in 2 weeks. And 100% undamaged, as they do not pass through any rotating parts in the pumping station. Meanwhile, large eels, silver eels and pikeperch also passed.
