Reliable sludge thickeners for efficient sludge processing

Sludge thickening is an essential step in the wastewater treatment process and takes place after post-sedimentation. Further thickening increases the dry matter content of the sludge and facilitates further sludge processing.

Our sludge thickeners are suitable for a variety of sludge digestion tanks and come with a feed, inlet and discharge assembly, agitator and bridge.

The system can be supplied with edge drive or central drive as required.

Features

A sludge thickener reduces the water content in sludge. Instead of processing the thin, watery sludge directly, it is first thickened: solids sink to the bottom, while excess water is drained away. The result is a more compact, concentrated sludge volume that can be disposed of or further treated more easily, cheaply and efficiently.

This step is crucial in the treatment process. The more effective the thickening, the lower the cost of further sludge treatment.

The thickener can be equipped with our own Landustrie central drive unit; designed and produced in-house, characterised by maximum reliability and long service life.

Landustrie received the order for the conversion and renovation of the screw pumping stations at the Warburg and Daseburg sewage treatment plants from Stadt Warburg (D) at the end of 2022. At the Warburg WWTP, located in the Diemel Valley, the existing intermediate pumping station was equipped with three new Landy augers.

Landustrie renovated the inlet pumping station of the Hildesheim sewage treatment plant in Germany. Two new LANDY augers with a prefab trough were installed here. Of the screw pumps in this pumping station, one screw must be ready for operation at all times. A quick conversion was possible because the selected semi-packaged trough has a very short installation time. The newly delivered augers have a diameter of 2.6 m and a length of 13 m.

Kalundborg WWTP, DK

At RWZI Kalundborg, on the northwest coast of the Danish Seeland, Landust supplied three new Landy screw pumps, fitted with a steel prefab trough. The existing intermediate pumping station at the treatment plant had to be renovated here, to meet the required higher capacity and head in the future. The modification also resulted in higher efficiency.
