Totnes (UK)

In Totnes, Devon, an existing weir has been fitted with two Landustrie hydropower jacks. Both jacks can generate renewable energy for about 400 households. The jacks are 3.7 metres in diameter. A fish passage is provided next to the installation, allowing fish migration to take place unhindered. The number and size of fish passing will be monitored here. The fish-friendly design of the jacks also allows fish to pass through without damage.
