Stuttgart-Mühlhausen WWTP (D)

Landustrie was commissioned to install a number of new Archimedes screw pumps and renovate some existing ones at Stuttgart-Mühlhausen WWTP, the largest sewage treatment plant (1.2 million IE) in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The screw pumps to be renovated will pump wastewater from the secondary settling tank to the inlet of the sand filter, which will be extended in the near future with a fourth treatment step.
In addition, the screw pumping station serves as a flood pumping station so that the sewage treatment plant remains operational even in the event of a flood. After the wastewater treatment process is completed, the treated water is returned to the Neckar river.
Four existing screw pumps were refurbished and one new screw was delivered. The new screw pump has a diameter of 2.6 m and a length of 12.1 m. The four existing screws are blasted and recoated and then reassembled with new drive units and bearings by our service team in Stuttgart.
