Havannah weir, Cheshire UK
For the Havannah weir, located in a new inlet of the River Dane, near Congleton (Cheshire, UK), we supplied a Landustrie hydropower auger. This sustainable green project is an initiative of Dane Valley Community Energy, in partnership with Derwent Hydro Developments Ltd.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our installation team was unable to carry out the commissioning in England at the time. However, under remote supervision, the local parties managed to install the auger perfectly, despite the poor accessibility of the project site.
The hydropower auger has a diameter of 2.5 m and produces 65 kW of green energy, enough to power about 60 households. It is a semi-compact unit, meaning the auger trough is self-supporting.
