For Dutch Water Board “Zuiderzeeland”, Landustrie renovated the polder pumping station called “Piet Oberman” located in Tollebeek. The open mixed flow pump dating from the 1970s has been fitted with new parts and converted from a grease-lubricated to a water-lubricated pump. The non-return valves and the switch box have been renewed as well.
The pumping station in Tollebeek is named after the Frisian resistance fighter Mr Piet Oberman (resistance name Piet Kramer) who was active in World War II and involved in the raid on the Detention Center in Leeuwarden on 8 December 1944.
