In Hirschthal, Switzerland, a Landustrie hydropower screw has been installed next to an existing bellows weir (gradient here is 3.5 m). The screw generates renewable energy for about 100 households, with the excess power being fed back into the grid.
The auger has a diameter of 2.8 metres and a length of 10 metres.
