Hydroelectric power station opening

Dommelstroom Sint-Michielsgestel

Last Saturday, the Netherlands' first cooperative hydropower plant was festively opened. Amid great interest, the children's mayor and the youth water grabber presented the hydropower auger in operation.

After the official part, there was an open house for all interested parties. A special Dommelstroom app was developed for the installation, giving a real-time insight into energy production.

Jan and Bram Taks' unique initiative, in which Landustrie is involved as main contractor, received a lot of media attention. View images of Broadcaster Brabant.

Landust renovated three sewage pumping stations in Doorn for the municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug. New LANDY pumps were supplied and installed for the pumping stations on Oranjelaan, Breullaan and Horstlaan, together with the associated piping and controls.

Renovation of Tjuchem screw pumping station

Commissioned by the Hunze en Aa's Water Board, Landustrie is carrying out the overhaul of the Wold en Weer pumping station in Tjuchem. The more than 40-year-old screw pump, delivered at the time by third parties, is now being repaired in Sneek. Earlier, Landustrie also repaired the other screw pump (2 in total).

Jacks to Chilean capital Santiago

Landustrie will supply five new screw jacks for the largest sewage treatment plant in Latin America, La Farfana in the Chilean capital Santiago. The jacks will be placed in the intake pumping station, where some 6 to 7 hundred thousand m3 of wastewater per day is pumped into the treatment process.

Expansion of Gabal el Asfar WWTP

The Gabal el Asfar sewage treatment plant, located on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, is undergoing a major expansion. After completion of the entire project, the plant will have a capacity of 2.5 million m3 of water per day, making it the largest plant in Africa and the Middle East and the third largest in the world. Implementation will be carried out by a consortium consisting of companies from Spain, Germany and Egypt.

Meanwhile, LANDY hydropower jacks have been installed in the existing weir, in the River Ill near Erstein. A total of six augers, each with a diameter of 2.5 metres and a weight of 7 tonnes, will produce about one million kWh per year. This amount of renewable energy is good for about 250 households.
