Modification of polder pumping stations

In mid-2019, Landustrie was awarded the extensive contract by Van Boekel Bouw & Infra to carry out all mechanical engineering works of a total of four units polder pumping stations, located in the Rhineland Water Board.

For the replacement of the three existing pumping stations in the Veerpolder, Oosteinderpolder and Hellegatspolder, a new Landy auger was delivered and installed, including a new drive unit.
After completion, the new pumping stations will meet current technical and safety requirements.

The Oude Secretarie box pumping station, near Hoofddorp, located in the Haarlemmermeerpolder, was fitted with a new automatic grate cleaner installation. No new augers were installed here, but the existing ones were overhauled by Landustrie. In the production halls in Sneek, the augers were blasted and linted. This process restored the original diameter of the auger.

Furthermore, the augers were fitted with a new Landy lower and upper bearing, as well as new drive and motor.

For ESI Eurosilo at Purmerend, Landustrie has delivered a total of 35 pieces of fearsome-looking jacks, or transport screws, in 2019 and 2020. A striking feature of the jacks is the serrated shoring edge and the material used, namely Creusabro 4800.

Lightweight Wetterfretter

Landustrie's renowned dirt cutting Wetterfretter pumps are now also available in a compact and lightweight version. By adapting the pump and motor housing, a compact pump has been realised with a weight of only 35 kg. In case of inspection or maintenance, the pump can easily be lifted by hand. Especially at mini pumping stations where no lifting facility is available, this pump offers a solution.

Major hydro project in Alsace

The existing Steinsau weir on the River Ill near Erstein is being fitted with six pieces of LANDY hydropower jacks. The weir dates from the late 19th century and ensures that the downstream regions of Erstein and Strasbourg are not flooded during high water. Part of the restoration and renovation of the weir is the installation of screw turbines to generate renewable energy.

Commissioned by the Zuiderzeeland Water Board, Landustrie is renovating the Piet Oberman polder pumping station in Tollebeek. The open screw pump dating from the 1970s will be fitted with new parts and converted from a grease-lubricated to a water-lubricated pump. The non-return valves and control box will also be renewed.

Completing work on Groningen pumping stations

Almost a year after signing the contract, work is now being completed on the last of the nine pumping stations. The sewerage pumping station at Bedum will be fitted with new pumps with associated pipework and controls.

After participating in the Koploper project in the Municipality of Weststellingwerf, Landustrie emerged as the winner. In the Koploper project, companies are screened for sustainability. A Koploper project lasts about a year and is concluded with a Koploper symposium. There, the Koplopers present their results and inspire other companies. The participant who has best completed the CSR homework assignment wins the Koploper Award!
