Screw applied in silos

Creusabro 845x321

For ESI Eurosilo at Purmerend, Landustrie will have a total of 35 pieces of fearsome-looking jacks or screw conveyors. A striking feature of the augers is the serrated sheathing edge and the material used, namely Creusabro 4800. Creusabro is a very hard steel with high wear resistance. The screw conveyors are used in coal and gypsum silos for both digging and mass distribution work. These different applications also each require a specific toothing; for example, in addition to small teeth, the manifold screw is evenly fitted with a large tooth in the shape of a shark fin. The screws ensure optimum distribution, in this case of coal, over the available space in the silo. The first order for coal silos in China was followed by an identical order for Turkey and a German project where the screws are used in gypsum silos.
