Floating purification for Amsterdam

Circular Buiksloterham
For the new Buiksloterham district in Amsterdam-North, a new sustainable water treatment system was commissioned by Waternet. The new sanitation technology was designed by DeSaH BV and the execution of the WTB / E work was realised by Landustrie.
On the quay at Landustrie, the plant is built on a floating concrete hull. After sailing towards Amsterdam, the treatment plant will eventually be moored at the northern IJ bank.
In the Amsterdam district, 550 new-build homes will be linked to the world's first floating treatment plant. The traditionally industrial business park will be transformed into a sustainable and circular area. The "Circular Buiksloterham" project will be completed by mid-2019.
