Expansion of Gabal el Asfar WWTP
The Gabal el Asfar sewage treatment plant, located on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, is undergoing a major expansion. After completion of the entire project, the treatment plant will have a capacity of 2.5 million m3 water per day, making it the largest installation in Africa and the Middle East, and third largest in the world. Implementation will be carried out by a consortium consisting of companies from Spain, Germany and Egypt.
Landustrie supplies 10 LANDY jacks, five for the new inlet pumping station and five for the new return sludge pumping station. Assembly of the jacks is done under the supervision of our engineers. The screw pumps have a diameter of 3 m and pump 9000 m3 to wastewater.
In 2015, Landustrie also supplied the same number of augers for the existing pumping stations at this treatment plant.
