
Sustainable hydropower project in Austria
A new hydropower screw has been installed on the River Sulm near Haslach in Austria to replace an existing installation that had been taken out of service following flooding. In collaboration with the client, KTG Austria / E-Werk Gleinstätten GmbH, a search was undertaken for a reliable and sustainable solution that utilises the existing civil infrastructure, including the weir and fish pass.

What we delivered
Noardling supplied a new, bespoke Landustrie hydropower screw as a robust and future-proof alternative to the former turbine. The complete mechanical installation was supplied and installed by Noardling, including its integration into the existing civil engineering structures. The installation is designed for a flow rate of 3.9 m³/s, a head of 2.2 metres and an installed capacity of 58.5 kW.
